WATZ ONION SOUP
An original from Donna's Kitchen, circa 19793 (or more) large videlia onions
1/2 clove (or more) garlic, crushed
1 Tbl. butter
26 oz. beef broth
Worcestershire sauce to taste
1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
7 slices French bread, sliced and toasted
Parmesan cheese, grated
1 pkg. mozzarella cheese slicesSauté onions and garlic in butter until light brown. Add beef broth. Cover and cook until tender. Add Worcestershire sauce and salt to taste. Slice, then toast bread. Pour soup into serving bowls. Top with break and cheese. Place into 475 degree oven for about 5 minutes or until cheese is browned. To brown more quickly, set oven on broil.
Serves 3 to 4.
